The Kevin McGrath Trophy 2010

The competition in aid of Charity was held on a lovely sunny day on the 18th April.
Although the weather conditions were not conducive to good fishing nevertheless most anglers managed a few and there were 12 bag limits caught.
Mr. “lucky” Bob Jones managed to catch his 4 fish within an hour of the competition starting and won first prize of a free season ticket for next year,he also won first prize and last prize in the raffle!!!!!
Second prize was won by Mr. Steve Blackwell who also had 4 fish but was quick to point out he was fishing” properly” with a floating line.

Mr.Jeff Thomas was a close third and was disappointed that his game plan “not to catch them too quick so they would be heavier at the weigh in” just didn’t work out.

I would like to thank Mr.Reg Hearse “the persuader” for his assistance and incredible skill in managing to get a fiver out of everyone for the raffle.

I would also thank Trevor for carrying out the weigh in again this year in his usual efficient manner there was only one request for a second opinion from myself which resulted in a quarter of a pound being taken off my weight!.

1st Mr. B Jones 4 Fish 11 Lb 2 oz

2nd Mr. S Blackwell 4 Fish 10Lb 9oz

3rd Mr. J Thomas 4Fish 10Lb 8oz

There were a total of 62 fish caught by 26 anglers with the fish averaging 2.5 Lb

Thanks again to Tight Lines Direct for their support this year but most thanks to the anglers who made the effort to give their time and money to a worthy cause that we have supported now for the last three years.
